Eco Fur and Possums in New Zealand

Possums are a major ecological threat to New Zealand’s native forests. For over 10years we have played a part in the "market solution" to this problem by selling possum wool clothing and accessories.

Brushtailed possums were first introduced to New Zealand in 1837 from their native Australia in hopes of starting a fur industry, and their numbers have exploded in the absence of predators. They have now multiplied to more than 70 million, decimating huge tracts of New Zealand native forests eating 21,000 tons of vegetation nightly. Possums strip trees of their leaves, compete for food with native birds and eat their eggs.

Preservation of New Zealand's native forests require control of the possum population. Efforts to reduce the millions of possums have been boosted by companies that blend possum fur with merino wool to make luxurious garments.

    Your product managed to do what a lot of others had not been able to do and clear my children's hair of nits. I am grateful that your product does not have a horrible after scent like many of the other products which have left my children embarrassed to go to school the next day. Your product is also the only one I’ve found that is pre-schooler friendly. My preschooler has an absolute hate of having his hair washed but I found that by using a tablespoon of your product in a small amount of warm water and just combing it through his hair I was able to clear his hair with no fuss.   • Thanks for this and a little positive feedback for you.I recently completed a 21 day trek in the Himalayas and for the whole trip wore exclusively, the silk long johns, tee shirts and briefs I purchased from you last year.They lived up to all that you said about them. The weather I experienced was far better than expected seeing daytime temperatures of up to 18 deg C with nighttimes down to minus 10 deg C. The silk under wear was outstanding keeping me cool during the day but snug at night. I had heard from old timers of the qualities of silk but always took it with a pinch of salt, but they are true and an extra layer of good warmth can be packed with very little increase in weight, and they don't smell which is incredible.
